Emma Griffiths is the owner of the firm.
She is a highly experienced legal practitioner having practiced in commercial law for over 10 years.

profile

She spent nearly three years working for Herbert Smith Freehills (formally Freehills) for the then head of the Banking and Finance Group. She also spent four years working for Corrs Chambers Westgarth, initially for the head of the Banking Group and later for the head of the Oil and Gas Group.

Emma has also spent a significant part of her career working as in-house legal counsel with various companies. Early on she spent time working as In-house Legal Counsel for the Financial Ombudsman Service in London. Later she was seconded to Woodside where she worked on negotiating the farm-out of a significant Asian LNG asset. Most recently Emma spent a year working as In-house Legal Counsel for AFG, the largest financial aggregator in Australia.

In the course of her career, Emma has regularly worked on high value transactions in the 100s of millions of dollars. These transactions obviously carry a high level of responsibility and attention to detail is required over and above what is given in a usual law practice. In setting up her own practice Emma specialises in servicing small and medium enterprise and individuals.

Due to her background, Emma can bring you the same level of quality legal representation as is given to the ‘big end of town’.

Emma’s broad commercial background in finance, property, resources and oil and gas law means that she can cater for a wide variety of clients in differing industries. While Emma’s time spent as in-house legal counsel has allowed her to develop a deep understanding of the commercial realities of running a business. This allows her to offer you better, more relevant services.

While the practice is small Emma plans to grow it ‘organically’ by adding staff as required. The advantage of the size of the firm is that every customer gets the attention of a senior and experienced lawyer for a highly competitive rate.
